The Portage Resort offers spacious and tastefully furnished rooms with a private balcony overlooking the Sounds or garden courtyard patio rooms. The resort features an outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub and the renowned Te Weka restaurant. All rooms come with en suite bathrooms, a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Most rooms also have beautiful views over Kenepuru Sound.Portage Resort offers free pick up from Torea Bay to guests arriving from Picton via water taxi. The tour desk can help guests with travel arrangements.
Te Weka Restaurant features contemporary New Zealand cuisine and excellent views over the water. Snapper Café and Bar offers casual waterfront dining. Retro Bar serves refreshing drinks and light snacks.

Every day is different at THE PORTAGE RESORT HOTEL and so are their rooms. Relax in this tranquil and enjoy impressive views over the Kenepuru Sounds, unwind in comfort and be at one with nature. The magic views move from warm and sparkling, quiet and still, to hills reflecting in the deep green water, misty and moody.

Courtyard Room
The Courtyard room is set amongst Native rain forest trees and plants in a open Courtyard setting. These rooms do not have sea views and are suitable for budget conscious guests.

Hillside Rooms
(sleeps: 2 to 5 guests)
All have comfortable furniture, views overlooking the Resort to the turquoise waters of Kenepuru Sound. Some rooms have decks, larger rooms have sunrooms but no decks. Bathrooms are refreshed. No baths.
We have three different types of Hillside rooms:
Hillside room with deck.
Hillside room with sunroom suit up to 3 guests.
Hillside rooms 2 suit couples, families and friends sharing together on two levels with decks and TV’s on both levels. Sleeps 2 to 5 guests.

Kowhai Lodge Rooms
Kowhai Lodge has 11 rooms, with large decks, all facing the famous Kenepuru Sound view across a wide sweeping lawn and garden area. Perfectly positioned to catch the morning sun. Spacious room with modern decor, Super king bed, large Mirror, wardrobe and draws.

The Snapper Cafe & Bar mixes contemporary style with the long history of THE PORTAGE. With its more relaxed style of dining, it is popular with families and walkers on the Queen Charlotte Track. All our menu is also available as take away.
Continuing the tradition of great dining at THE PORTAGE, Te Weka Restaurant offers fresh, contemporary food, exciting to taste and well matched to our outstanding Marlborough wine list. Join us for a quality dining experience.
In summer we invite you to relax in the Retro Bar for a dessert, a cheese platter and after dinner drinks.
During winter the Retro Bar Lounge opens, providing a casual dining option. During the day you can enjoy a glass of wine in front of the fire while we prepare your meal for you!
