The township of Kerikeri offers its visitors so many things to do and see with lots of activities, short walks, wine tours and many attractions to choose from.

Being the largest town in the Northland region of New Zealand and has a rich and colourful history. The Stone Store is New Zealand’s oldest building and a must visit as well as the old kerikeri Mission Station. Close by is the Parrot place with a variety of tropical birds, a great place to visit and a must do for the kids.

Wander through Rewa’s Maori village taking you back before European settlement learning of Maori culture and regional history.

Further north is Mathews Vintage cars, tractors and farm machinery collection at Doubtless bay.

Saturday morning is a great time to check out the local farmers Packhouse Market and stock up on an abundance of local fruit and vegetable produce, wine and cheese tasting, freshly baked bread and a chance to check out the local arts and crafts.

The first grape vines were planted here by Samuel Marsden in 1819 and today Kerikeri has some 14 local vineyards with cellar door sales and wine tasting, stop for lunch or dinner at the Marsden Estate or Ake Ake vineyard.

For the adventurous there is skydiving, dive trips to the rainbow Warrior, scenic flights by plane and helicopter over the Bay of Islands and Cape Reinga, or for a more relaxed pace there is horse trekking through a large working farm and the chance to ride on the beach.
