Nestled in one of Kaikoura’s many bays, the Point B&B is uniquely situated overlooking the Seaward Kaikoura Mountain Range and the Pacfic Ocean, the perfect place to relax and unwind right on natures doorstep. Peter and Gwenda invite you to stay in one of their two guest rooms, ‘The Rutherford Room’ and ‘The Front Room’ , queen rooms which are comfortable and stylish and which will afford you a good nights sleep. Relax in the garden, or wander down to the beach as you enjoy the peace and serenity of this stunning location.
‘The Point’ is a 3 generation working sheep farm although it is run on a much smaller scale than it once was, today we have 90 acres and 300 Drysdale sheep.
Both of our Queen rooms have their own private en suite bathrooms, tv, electric blankets, heater, hairdryer and complementary chocolates to make your stay more enjoyable.
‘The Rutherford Room’ was originally the maids quarters of the Rutherford home and is in a peaceful and restful setting with views out to the newly planted garden full of New Zealand natives and fruit trees. Tastefully decorated in New Zealand country style you’ll feel right at home here.
‘The Front Room’ is a new addition to the original ‘Point Farm’ and was added on in the 1980’s, recently redecorated and now with a fresh modern feel this room has a view of the ocean and the Kaikoura Ranges.
When you wake why not start your day by sitting on the balcony and be treated to panoramic vistas of the mountains and sea as you choose from lots of different breakfast options including cereals, peaches, fresh fruit salad, eggs, toast, spreads, orange juice, coffee and a wide variety of teas.
Get close to the action daily at theThe Point Sheep Shearing Show as you meet ’Ram-Man’ our Drysdale sheep who will eat from the palm of your hand. Get a taste of traditional sheep shearing methods, meet our sheepdogs and from August to January you will get the opportunity to feed and hold our pet lambs. A hands on experience for the whole family!
