Escape to Picton is a boutique hotel & restaurant in Picton, New Zealand. The hotel is enviably sited by the town’s waterfront, overlooking the marina. ‘Escape to Picton’ is a beautiful boutique lodge, in a superb location just a two minute walk to the departure point for many of the trips and tours into the Marlborough Sounds and the Queen Charlotte Track.
Within a stone’s throw are regular boating tours of the Marlborough Sounds, and connections to the famous Queen Charlotte walking track. A mere 20-minute drive separates us from the seemingly endless vineyards of the Wairau and Awatere valleys, and the remarkable wineries dotted among them.
Much thought and effort has gone into creating accommodation befitting the astonishingly beautiful surrounds. Our three suites are as different from each other as they are equally comely, each suite featuring unique pieces of exquisite handmade furniture collected over many years.
We consider that one’s living environment not only reflects, but also determines one’s state of mind. Taking this as our mantra, we’ve done everything in our power to make our three suites genuine havens for our guests. It is our sincere hope that those who stay with us feel more at home here than anywhere else in the world.
This well located boutique accommodation offers three room styles:
Modern Suite
The Modern Suite is a premium suite complimented with a large spacious lounge that looks out towards the Sounds. Its contemporary furnishings give it a relaxed feeling and it is complimented with gas fire, plasma TV, iPod stereo system and beautiful furniture. The bedroom has a super king bed with stylish bed linen and cushions and the bathroom offers an open feel with spa bath and double shower.
Formal Suite
The Formal Suite has a rich romantic french style feel to its rich romantic interior with exquisite rugs that decorate the polished wooden floors, high ceiling and antique chandeliers, super king size bed and a chic lounge with plasma TV. A french tub occupies the middle of the bathroom with an additional corner shower and a door leads onto a open balcony that overlooks the picturesque Picton Marina and the inlet of the Marlborough Sounds.
Sea Room
The Sea Room is decorated in creamy blue tones to create a relaxed environment. High ceilings with antique chandeliers, Queen size bed. Relax in the wicker chairs in the bay window. En suite bathroom with large bath tub and shower.Plasma screen TV, CD player and Broadband connection. Continental Breakfast is included. Free Wi-Fi & parking included.Receive a glass of champagne, a fruit & chocolate platter and a gourmet breakfast.

Escape Restautant & Bar is one of the most highly awarded restaurants in Marlborough, specialising in gourmet styled cuisine. and the menu diversifies to suit almost all tastes, from fresh local seafood to prime beef fillets. that boasts an impressive reputation in the region, a reputation forged on world-class meals created using locally-sourced fresh produce. It is said that reputations take a lifetime to build, but only moments to destroy: a warning head chef Juliearna Kavanagh takes very seriously. For this reason, she ensures that her kitchen remains sacrosanct, working every service herself; every meal served at Escape to Picton is the work of her skilful hand.
